The Corinthian Cup is Back!
The closure of Redondo Beach Yacht Club was a real loss for the sailing community. Among the many traditions that faded was the beloved Corinthian Cup regatta, historically held on Memorial Day weekend. But we’re thrilled to announce that Port Royal Yacht Club and South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club have teamed up to bring this classic event back to life!
Save the dates: July 18–20 for a fun-filled weekend of racing and revelry between the harbors.
The festivities kick off Friday evening with a no-host party at Port Royal Yacht Club, followed by a complimentary buffet breakfast Saturday morning to get racers ready. Then the action begins with a race from King Harbor to Marina del Rey, wrapping up with a celebratory dinner at SCCYC on Saturday night.
On Sunday morning, racers will enjoy another complimentary breakfast buffet at SCCYC, before setting out for the return leg to King Harbor early Sunday afternoon.
This is a casual, friendly regatta, perfect for including green crew and celebrating the return of a cherished tradition. The event is open to all classes, and while yacht club membership is encouraged, it’s not required. If your boat doesn’t have a PHRF certificate, the committee will assign one. Power Boaters can join in too, thanks to a predictive log format that makes this truly an event for everyone.
