You Won't Want To Miss This Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) Party — Wear Your Beads!
SCCYC Board of Directors decided to host three member-appreciation parties in 2023! Roughly corresponding to the beginning, middle and end of the yachting season. The first party will be on Saturday, February 18th, with a New Orleans Mardi Gras feast and live music fromPrestonSmith who will be playing grooves from the Big Easy.
We’ll start with a warm up set of the more traditional NOLA Jazz and then after a Creole-themed buffet,Prestonand his rhythm section will crank it up and hit that funky bone.
PrestonSmith is a virtuoso blues and jazz singer, guitarist and harmonica player. He has played with Bo Didley, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Salt n’ Pepa and jammed with Eddie Van Halen. You don’t want to miss this party!
The club will be swinging, your fellow members will be dancing, the bar is open and the buffet dinner will feature flavors from the Crescent City, hosted by Chris Kitchen and Shawna McLean.
